Add an ad account or a business
To add an ad account to the active business, click the tile at the top of the sidebar, then click Add ad account. To add a business, click the tile, then click Add business. You can have up to 10 businesses. Each business holds one ad account on each platform.
A business is the company that you advertise, and it holds your products. See Businesses, accounts and products.
Add an ad account to a business
Add ad account shows only the platforms that the business does not have. The menu hides Add ad account when the business has an account on every platform.
- Click the tile at the top of the sidebar.
- Click Add ad account.
- Click the platform, for example Connect LinkedIn Ads.
- Sign in on the platform's screen with the login that has access to the account.
- Pick the account from the list. Accounts already in Hero Marketer show Already added. You cannot pick them again.
- Click Use this account.
To add an account to another business, open Settings > Connections. Click Add ad account next to the business.
To see the accounts of another login, click the option for a different login on the Choose an account step.
Add a business
Add a business for each company that you advertise. A fractional marketer adds one business for each client.
- Click the tile at the top of the sidebar.
- Click Add business.
- Type the Business name, then click Continue.
- Click the platform.
- Sign in on the platform's screen with the login that has access to the account.
- Pick the account, then click Use this account.
Hero Marketer creates the business when you connect its first account. So Add business cannot make an empty business. To add a business from Settings > Connections, click Add business.
How many businesses and ad accounts you can have
You can have up to 10 businesses, with one ad account on each platform in each business. There is no plan to upgrade. At 10 businesses, the menu shows Limit of 10 next to Add business. To free a slot, delete a business. See Change a business's name or logo, or delete it.
A company with two Google Ads accounts on one platform
A business holds one ad account on each platform. A company with two Google Ads accounts, for example one for the US and one for the EU, needs two businesses. Each business has its own products. No view covers the two businesses.
Change the ad account of a platform
To change the ad account of a platform, disconnect the account. Then connect the other one. Your products stay in the business. See Disconnect Google Ads.
Which ad accounts connect free
Every platform in your first business connects free. So you can connect Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads in your first business before you buy credits. A later business needs a balance above 0. The connection itself does not use credits. With no credits, the page shows an offer to buy credits. After you buy, the flow unlocks on the same page.
Each account gets daily checks, at 0.25 credits a day for each account. Daily checks start when you buy credits for the first time. Each account gets its own free scan for problems, and its own free AI summary on the dashboard. See How credits work.
What opens after you connect the account
The free scan of the new account runs in the background. Its alerts go to your Alerts inbox. The new account becomes the active account. What opens next depends on the business:
- A business that you already have. The dashboard of the new account opens. The account uses the products of that business, so you do not add a product.
- A new business. Hero Marketer creates the business with one product, which has the name of the account. The campaign wizard opens on that product. Its first step is Tell us about this product first, which reads the product's website. The website read usually uses under half a credit. You can leave the wizard and read the website later.
Automations and alerts also apply to the new account
The recommended automations that you turned on also apply to the new account. They can act on the new account from its first scan. Recommended automations have no setting for each account. To keep them off the new account, turn them off in Settings > Automations before you connect it. This turns them off for every account. A custom automation runs only on the account that was active when you saved it. See Turn on an automation.
Your alert settings also apply to every account that you connect.
What is separate and what is shared across ad accounts
Each ad account has these items of its own:
- Its own campaigns, dashboards, reports, and Hero AI chats.
- Its own connection to the platform.
- Its own daily checks, at 0.25 credits a day.
Accounts in the same business share the products of that business. Accounts in different businesses do not share products.
What is shared across every account that you connect:
- Your credit balance. One balance covers every connected account.
- Your alert and automation settings. They apply to every account that you connect.
- Your billing settings.
Connect client accounts under a Google manager (MCC)
If you sign in with a manager account (MCC), the list shows the enabled client accounts directly under that manager. Client accounts under a sub-manager do not show. To add one of those accounts, sign in with the sub-manager login or with a login that has direct access.
To add another client of the same manager, click Add business. On Google's screen, choose the same Google login. Then pick a different client account. You connect client accounts one at a time.
If you manage several clients
Put each client in its own business, so that each client keeps its own products. You can have up to 10 clients in one login. Each client account costs 0.25 credits a day while daily checks run. One credit balance pays for every account.
Your alert and automation settings apply to every client account. Hero Marketer has no view that combines clients. It has no team seats and no client invites.
Remove an ad account
To stop the management of an ad account through Hero Marketer, disconnect it. A disconnect stops daily checks for that account. Your live campaigns keep running. See Disconnect Google Ads.
