Disconnect Google Ads
You can remove a Google Ads account from Hero Marketer at any time. The campaigns running in Google Ads itself are not affected; this only severs Hero Marketer's access.
Two ways to disconnect
From Hero Marketer settings
- Open settings, then the Google Ads accounts tab.
- Click the account you want to remove.
- Click Disconnect.
- Confirm.
This is the cleaner path. Hero Marketer revokes its OAuth token, removes the account from your workspace, and stops fetching data from it.
From Google account permissions
If you want to revoke at the Google side (for example, you no longer have access to Hero Marketer):
- Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Find Hero Marketer in the list.
- Click Remove access.
This revokes the OAuth token but doesn't remove the account from your Hero Marketer workspace. The next time Hero Marketer tries to use the connection, it'll show the account as disconnected.
What's retained
When you disconnect:
- In Google Ads: nothing changes. Campaigns built through Hero Marketer keep running. Performance data, billing, and account settings are unaffected.
- In Hero Marketer: product descriptions, campaign history (the records of what was built), and dashboard data are retained for the account in your workspace, even if you can't pull live metrics any more.
- Your subscription and credit balance: unaffected. Credits roll over with you regardless of which accounts are connected.
Re connecting later
To reconnect a previously disconnected account:
- Open settings, then the Google Ads accounts tab.
- Click Add account.
- Sign in with the Google identity that has access. Pick the account.
Hero Marketer recognizes that this account was previously connected and restores the link to its existing data. You don't lose history.
What if you want to delete the data, not just disconnect
Disconnecting keeps the records. To request full deletion of an account's data from Hero Marketer:
Contact support and request data deletion. We'll remove the account, its products, and all associated history. This is permanent and irreversible. Allow up to 30 days for full deletion across backups.
A common mistake: disconnect when you mean switch
If you just want to work in a different account, you don't need to disconnect. Use the account switcher. See Switch between accounts.
Disconnecting is for when you genuinely want to remove Hero Marketer's access to an account, not just toggle the active one.
