Disconnect Google Ads
To disconnect a Google Ads account, open Account → Connections in the sidebar, click Disconnect account on that account's card, and confirm. This severs Hero Marketer's access only, the campaigns running in Google Ads itself are unaffected and keep running.
Disconnecting is the right action when you genuinely want to remove Hero Marketer's access to a Google Ads account. If you only want to work in a different account. You don't need to disconnect, use the account switcher instead (covered at the end of this page).
Disconnect from Hero Marketer
- Open Account → Connections in the sidebar.
- On the card for the Google Ads account you want to remove, click Disconnect account.
- Confirm.
This is the cleaner path. Hero Marketer revokes its authorization for that account, removes it from your workspace, and stops fetching data from it.
On Pro and Growth, where you're capped at one Google Ads account, the button on the card reads Replace account instead of Disconnect account. Clicking it walks you through connecting a new account and then removes the old one once the new one is set up, so you're never left without a connected account during the swap.
Revoke access from your Google account
If you'd rather revoke access on the Google side, for example, you've lost access to Hero Marketer and can't reach the Connections page, do it from your Google account permissions:
- Go to myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- Find Hero Marketer in the list.
- Click Remove access.
Revoking from Google cuts off Hero Marketer's authorization but does not remove the account from your Hero Marketer workspace. The next time Hero Marketer tries to use the connection. It shows the account as disconnected.
What's kept when you disconnect
Disconnecting a Google Ads account keeps your records. Specifically:
- In Google Ads: nothing changes. Campaigns built through Hero Marketer keep running. Performance data, billing, and account settings are unaffected.
- In Hero Marketer: the account's products, campaign history (the records of what was built), and dashboard data are retained in your workspace, even though you can't pull live metrics for it while it's disconnected.
- Your subscription and credit balance: unaffected. Your credits stay intact regardless of which accounts are connected.
Reconnect a disconnected account
To reconnect a Google Ads account you previously disconnected:
- Open Account → Connections in the sidebar.
- Click Connect account.
- Sign in with the Google identity that has access, and pick the account.
Hero Marketer recognizes that this account was connected before and restores the link to its existing products and history, so you don't lose anything by disconnecting and reconnecting.
Delete an account's data instead of disconnecting
Disconnecting keeps your records; it does not delete them. To have a Google Ads account's data fully removed from Hero Marketer, the account, its products, and all associated history, contact support and request data deletion. This is permanent and irreversible, and full deletion across backups can take up to 30 days.
Disconnecting versus switching accounts
If you just want to work in a different Google Ads account, you don't need to disconnect anything. Use the account switcher to change which connected account is active. See Switch between accounts. Disconnecting is only for removing Hero Marketer's access to an account, not for toggling which one you're working in.
