Switch between businesses

To switch between businesses, click the tile at the top of the sidebar. Then click the business. The switch is instant. Most of Hero Marketer shows one business at a time, so the pages change when you switch. Your credit balance stays the same.

A business is the company that you advertise. It holds at most one ad account on each platform. If a business is not in the menu, you did not add it. See Add an ad account or a business.

Switch from the sidebar

The tile at the top of the sidebar shows the logo of the active business. A business with no logo shows the first letter of its name. To see the name, point to the tile.

  1. Click the tile.
  2. Click the business.

Each business in the menu shows its logo or letter, its name, the logos of its platforms, and its count of open alerts. A check marks the active business. The menu does not list ad accounts. The business opens on its first platform.

What the red dot on the tile means

A red dot on the tile means that another business has open alerts. To see the count, point to the tile. The menu shows the count for each business. The bell shows the alerts of the active business only.

Switch businesses on a phone

  1. Open the drawer with the menu button in the header.
  2. Click the business at the top of the drawer.
  3. Click the business that you want.

Change the platform inside a business

To change platform inside a business, use the Platform filter. The filter shows one logo for each platform of the business. Click a logo to work on that platform. To see the name of a platform, point to its logo.

The filter is next to the date range on the dashboard, the All campaigns page and the create report page. It is also on the reports library and on default reports. A business with one platform does not show the filter.

  • The date range stays the same. The dashboard keeps your dates, comparison and status filter when you change platform.
  • The campaign selection clears. A campaign is on one platform, so the Campaign name filter goes back to all campaigns.
  • Campaign pages and saved reports do not show the filter. They belong to one ad account.

Pages that use only Google Ads

Create campaign and Automations work on the Google Ads account of the business. These pages use that account when the Platform filter shows another platform. If the business has no Google Ads account, the page asks you to connect one.

Switch from the Connections page

You can also switch from Settings > Connections. To open Settings, click your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar, then click Settings. Each account card has a Make active button when it is not the current account. The card of the active account shows an Active badge.

Switch with the keyboard

The tile works from the keyboard. Press Tab to go to the tile. The name of the business shows in a tooltip. Press Enter to open the menu. Use the arrow keys to move through the list. Press Enter to select a business. The menu has no keyboard shortcut and no search box.

What changes when you switch businesses

  • Dashboard. It shows the campaigns and metrics of the active ad account.
  • Reporting filters. Hero Marketer remembers the date range, comparison, status and selected campaigns for each business.
  • Campaign wizard. It builds campaigns in the Google Ads account of the active business. A wizard draft stays with the account where you started it. When you switch back, the wizard opens the draft at the same step.
  • Hero AI chats. Each ad account keeps its own list of saved chats, up to 10 for each account. Chats on the other accounts stay saved.
  • Products. The product picker shows the products of the active business.
  • Alerts. The bell and the Alerts page show the active business.
  • Account settings. Time zone and currency come from the active ad account.

What stays the same when you switch businesses

Some items apply to every business and do not change when you switch:

  • Your credit balance. One balance covers every account. Daily checks cost 0.25 credits a day for each account.
  • Your alert and automation settings. They apply to every account that you connect.

Teammates who use the same Google Ads account

Hero Marketer has no team seats. Each teammate signs in with their own Google account. A teammate who connects the same Google Ads account sees its saved reports and named dashboards. Only the author can change a report or a dashboard. Hero AI chats, alert settings, and credits stay with each person.

You cannot switch while Hero AI generates

While Hero AI generates a response, the tile and the Platform filter are locked. The answer belongs to the account where it started. Wait for the response to finish, or stop it from the chat input. Then switch.

See all your businesses or platforms at once

Hero Marketer shows one business and one platform at a time. There is no dashboard that combines platforms or businesses. To compare them, switch between them.

If a business is missing or will not switch

  • A business is not in the menu. You did not add the business, or you deleted it. See Add an ad account or a business.
  • A business shows No ad account. You disconnected its last account. The business keeps its products. Its pages ask you to connect an account.
  • An ad account shows the connection broken alert. To fix the connection, open Settings > Connections. On the account's card, click Reconnect.
  • A switch does nothing. Refresh the page. If that does not fix it, your session may have expired. See Session keeps expiring.
