Create and manage dashboards

In addition to the Overview, you can create your own named dashboards. Each one has its own set of tiles. Use them when one layout cannot cover everything you check, for example a spend view and a conversion view, or one dashboard for each client.

Create a dashboard

  1. Open the dashboard dropdown at the top left of the page. By default it shows Overview.
  2. Choose New dashboard.
  3. Give it a name, for example "Weekly performance". Then choose Create dashboard.

The new dashboard opens empty. It shows a prompt to add an existing report or create a new one. Add tiles with Add report. See Customize your dashboard.

Switch between dashboards

The same dropdown lists Overview first, then every dashboard you created for the current Google Ads account. When you select one, the tiles below change. The date range, comparison, filters, and the account brief at the top stay the same. So you can compare two layouts over the same period.

Rename, duplicate, or delete

With a named dashboard open, use the menu button next to Export PDF:

  • Rename dashboard. Change the name. The tiles stay the same.
  • Duplicate dashboard. This makes a copy, named "<name> (copy)", with the same tiles. Use it as a start point for a variation you do not want to build twice.
  • Delete dashboard. This removes the dashboard and its layout. Your reports stay in the library, so you do not lose anything you built. Hero Marketer then returns you to the Overview.

These three actions apply to named dashboards only. You cannot rename, duplicate, or delete the Overview. It offers Reset to default layout instead.

Move a report between dashboards

Open a tile's menu, choose Move to dashboard, and pick the destination. The tile leaves the current dashboard and appears on the one you chose. If a dashboard already has that report, a move there changes nothing.

Move to dashboard appears only when you have another dashboard to move the tile to. It is hidden until you create at least one named dashboard.

Dashboards belong to one account

A dashboard is tied to the Google Ads account that was active when you created it. When you switch accounts, the dropdown shows that account's dashboards, not the ones you built elsewhere.

No dashboard combines several Google Ads accounts into one view. To compare accounts, switch between them. See Switch between accounts.

Hero Marketer saves named dashboards to your account, not your browser. They are available on any browser or device you sign in from. The Overview layout works in a different way. See Customize your dashboard.
