Export your dashboard as a PDF

Choose Export PDF at the top of the dashboard to download a snapshot of the account for the period you view. Use this to give the numbers to someone who does not have a Hero Marketer login.

The file downloads as dashboard-<account>-<date>.pdf. This keeps exports from different accounts and dates easy to sort.

What the export costs​

A dashboard PDF export does not use credits, and it never writes an AI summary. But you must have a balance above 0 to export a PDF. With a balance of 0, Hero Marketer asks you to add credits. See How credits work.

You can export up to 3 dashboard PDFs in 10 minutes. Only one PDF can export at a time, for a dashboard, a report, or a landing page wireframe.

What the export captures​

The PDF uses the settings on the page when you click:

  • The date range and the comparison setting.
  • The campaign filters (campaign type, status, and campaign names). They apply to the performance summary, the trend chart, and the campaign table. The device, country, audience, and conversion-action sections always cover the whole account.
  • The Overview's AI summary, if you wrote one for the same view.

The PDF has the header "<account>: Dashboard" and the date range. Then it shows the AI summary (when there is one), the performance summary, the trend chart, the four breakdowns, and the campaign table. It uses the default chart and table settings of the Overview. A Group-by or a sort that you pick on a tile does not carry into the PDF.

The export leaves out the sidebar, filter bar, and buttons, so the page is clean. Everything lands on one tall page. The export does not split it across sheets. Your PDF viewer can set the pages again if you need to print it.

It exports the standard layout, not your tile arrangement​

The export always shows the standard Overview layout. It does not copy a custom tile arrangement. A named dashboard, or an Overview where you moved, resized, removed, or added tiles, still exports in the standard shape.

The export always keeps your date range, comparison, and filters. So the numbers in the PDF are the numbers you looked at, even when the arrangement is different.

The AI summary in the export​

The PDF includes the Overview's AI summary for the same date range, comparison, and filters, if you wrote one. It does not include an AI summary from a named dashboard. It never includes the Quick summary. In the file, the summary is read-only, with no buttons.

To put an AI summary in the PDF:

  1. Open the Overview.
  2. Click Write summary, or Write my summary for your first free summary.
  3. Click Export PDF.

How long it takes​

The export usually takes ten to thirty seconds. The whole page must load, and every chart must finish drawing, before Hero Marketer can capture the file. Longer date ranges take more time. The button shows Preparing PDF while it works.

Other things to know​

  • A dashboard exports to PDF only. There is no CSV or Excel export for a dashboard. For campaign rows in a CSV file, use a saved report.
  • The PDF is a snapshot from the moment you click. To capture an update, export again.
  • Reports export separately. A report you saved has its own PDF export. Reports built on KPI summary, Performance over time, or Campaign breakdown can also export campaign rows as a CSV. See Read and share a report.
  • There is no scheduled or emailed delivery. Hero Marketer does not send the dashboard anywhere on a schedule, and there is no public link. To share, send the file you downloaded.
