Monthly targets

A monthly target tells Hero Marketer how much you plan to spend and how many conversions you want. Review then shows the month so far against the target, and where the month will end at this pace.

Set a monthly target

  1. Open Review from the dashboard menu.
  2. On Pace against target, click Set a target. If a target exists, click Edit target.
  3. Select Whole business or Per platform.
  4. Type the amounts.
  5. Click Save target.

The owner and the editors of a business can set a target. Viewers can see the target, but they cannot change it.

Whole business or per platform

  • Whole business. One spend amount for all platforms together. A business target has no conversions, because each platform counts its own conversions. Conversions do not add up across platforms.
  • Per platform. A spend amount and a conversions amount for each platform. The card also shows your cost per conversion against the cost per conversion that the two amounts give.

You can use one type of target, not both. When you save one type, Hero Marketer removes the other type.

Targets use your reporting currency. To change the reporting currency, go to Settings > Business.

How to read the pace

  • Day X of Y. The number of complete days in the month so far. Today is not complete, so the pace does not include today.
  • Heading for. The month so far, divided by the complete days, multiplied by the days in the month.
  • On target. The month will end within 5% of the target.
  • Over, under, ahead, or behind. The month will end more than 5% above or below the target. Spend over the target and conversions behind the target show in amber.
  • On the 1st of the month, the card shows "Pace shows from the 2nd."

The marker on each bar shows where the month so far must be to stay on target.

Budget pace when you have no target

With no target, the card shows Budget pace. Budget pace compares the spend of each platform with the daily budgets of its enabled campaigns, multiplied by the days in the month. Budget pace uses the currency of each ad account. If no campaign has a daily budget, the card shows "No daily budgets to pace against."

Remove a target

  1. On Pace against target, click Edit target.
  2. Click Remove target.

Where else the target shows

  • The Over time chart on Review shows a dashed line for the daily pace of your spend target.
  • A Performance over time report can show the target of its platform. In the report builder, select one metric, cost or conversions, then select Show target. A whole-business target does not show on a report. See Create a report.
  • The Monday digest shows the pace. See The Monday digest.
