The AI account brief
The card at the top of every dashboard is the AI brief. It is a short written read of the account for the period you view. It saves you from reading seven tiles yourself to find out how the period went.
It has three parts:
- Headline. One sentence with the verdict, the most important point first. For example, "Spend up 12% while conversions held flat, so cost per lead crept up."
- A short paragraph on what changed. It gives the actual figures (current, previous, percent change) and names the campaigns that drive the change.
- Next steps. Up to three actions, the most important first. Each action has an Ask Hero AI button.
Ask Hero AI on a next step
Each next step has an Ask Hero AI button. The button opens Hero AI in a new chat with the message already written. The message includes the figures, campaign names, and date range, so the investigation starts with the context in place. Review the message, then send it.
From there, Hero AI can investigate the cause. With your confirmation, Hero AI can act on the account. See Actions Hero AI can take.
What the brief is grounded in
The brief works only from data that Hero Marketer can see:
- The numbers already on the dashboard for your selected date range, comparison, and filters.
- Your product context — what you sell, who it is for, and why people buy it. This makes the next steps suit your business, and not generic PPC advice. See What product context is.
- Your active alerts on that account. This keeps the brief and your alerts in agreement. See What alerts do.
The brief does not invent causes. If the numbers do not show why something changed, the brief says what changed and does not guess a reason. It also tells you when the data is too thin to act on.
The brief does not query Google Ads again. It reads the figures the dashboard already loaded. This is why it returns in seconds.
Quick summary and AI brief
The card has two states. The title tells you which state you see.
- AI brief. The generated brief, with next steps and a timestamp.
- Quick summary. A fast summary that Hero Marketer calculates from the same numbers, with no AI. You see it in three cases: when no AI brief exists for the view yet, when you are out of credits, or when your subscription is inactive. It gives you a headline, what changed, and one recommended next step. It costs nothing.
When the card shows a Quick summary and a brief is possible, a Generate brief button sits in the top right of the card.
Generate, refresh, and edit the brief
- The first brief generates on its own. When you open the dashboard and no brief exists for that account, Hero Marketer generates one automatically.
- After you change the view, generate the brief yourself. When you change the date range, the comparison, or a filter, you get that view's Quick summary and a Generate brief button. This is deliberate. It prevents a credit charge on each filter change.
- Refresh generates the brief again for the current view, with the latest numbers. It spends credits again.
- Edit lets you rewrite the headline and the summary by hand. An edit uses no AI and costs nothing. The card then shows an Edited badge. An edit does not change the next steps.
Credits and cost
Each brief uses about 0.1 credits. The button tells you the cost before you click. A refresh costs the same as a new brief. To read a brief that already exists, or to edit one, costs nothing.
If you are out of credits, the card shows the Quick summary and offers to add credits. See How credits work.
There is one brief for each view
A brief belongs to one view of the account: the date range, the comparison period, and the campaign filters at the time you generated it. This means:
- When you go back to a view with a brief, Hero Marketer shows the saved brief again, with no new charge.
- When you change the date range, comparison, or filters, you get a different view. Hero Marketer then offers you a new brief for it.
- Each Google Ads account has its own briefs.
When the brief does not appear
- No data in the range. The brief needs campaigns with activity in the selected window. If nothing spent in the range, no brief or summary appears. Make the date range wider.
- "The brief did not generate." Use Try again on the card. If it continues to fail, the numbers below are still correct, and the tiles still work.
- You are out of credits, or your subscription is inactive. The card shows the Quick summary instead. A note explains which of the two cases it is.
