Your first week with an existing account

If you already run Google Ads, you do not need to build a new campaign. Hero Marketer works on the campaigns that you already have. This plan shows the first steps: the free scan, the dashboard, daily checks, a Hero AI question, and automations.

Day 1: Read the results of your free scan

The free scan runs once when you connect the account. The results screen shows the most important open alerts, and a count of the rest. Every alert from the scan is also in the bell and on the Alerts page. Hero Marketer does not email the results of the scan.

To act on an alert from the scan:

  1. Click Alerts in the sidebar.
  2. Click an alert to open it.
  3. Read the Suggested action.
  4. Click Analyze with Hero AI to get a diagnosis.

Hero AI opens a new chat and sends the question at once. This uses credits like any Hero AI question. A Hero AI question needs at least 1 credit in your balance. To buy credits, see Day 2. To fix the problem yourself, click Open in Google Ads. When the problem is fixed, click Mark resolved.

If the scan says Nothing to check yet, the account had no ad spend in the last 35 days. Start with Create your first campaign.

Day 1: Write your free AI summary

Open the Dashboard. Your first AI summary for each Google Ads account is free. Click Write my summary.

The AI summary gives a headline, a paragraph about what changed, and 1 to 3 next steps. Click a next step to send it to Hero AI as a new question. That Hero AI question uses credits. Later AI summaries use about 0.01 credits each. See The dashboard AI summary.

Day 2: Buy credits to start daily checks

Hero Marketer is pay as you go. There are no plans and no monthly fee. One credit costs $1. You buy credits in packs of 20 for $20. Credits do not expire.

To buy credits:

  1. Click your credit balance at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Click Buy credits ($20).
  3. Pay in the checkout.

Daily checks cost 0.25 credits a day for each connected account. The charge starts when you buy credits for the first time. To stop it, turn off all 17 alert types and all automations. Or disconnect the account.

Hero Marketer checks each account at 06:00 in the account's time zone. It checks budget pace and spend spikes every hour from 09:00 to 22:00. All 17 alert types start on. Every alert shows in the bell and on the Alerts page. By default, 10 alert types also send an email. See Monitoring and the daily rate.

Day 2: Ask Hero AI why a number changed

Open Hero AI in the sidebar. Ask about a real change in your account, for example:

  • "Why did my cost per conversion go up in the last 30 days?"
  • "Why did conversions drop on my brand campaign last week?"
  • "What should I change to lower CPA?"

Tell Hero AI your goal, for example a target CPA. Hero AI does not know your targets until you tell it.

A simple lookup, such as a number or a list, takes seconds. A "why" question runs a deep dive, which takes about 3 minutes. You can go to a different tab. Hero Marketer plays a sound when the answer is ready. A typical question uses about 0.2 to 1.5 credits.

Hero AI changes nothing until you click Approve and apply on a card that shows the exact change. To skip a change, click Not now. You can undo budget changes, Target CPA and Target ROAS changes, bidding strategy switches, keyword pauses, and new negative keywords. See Ask Hero AI for recommendations.

Day 3 to 7: Check your alert settings

Open Settings > Alerts. To open Settings, click your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar, then click Settings.

All 17 alert types are on. Every alert shows in the bell and on the Alerts page. For each type, select or clear Email to choose which alerts send an email. Change a threshold if an alert fires too often or too late. Your alert settings apply to all your connected Google Ads accounts. See Configure alert preferences.

Day 3 to 7: Preview an automation

Automations fix some problems without asking each time. All five recommended automations are off by default. Before you turn one on the first time, you must look at a preview.

  1. Open Settings > Automations.
  2. Find the automation, for example Block wasting search terms.
  3. Turn on its switch. The preview opens.
  4. Read what the automation would have done with your recent data.
  5. Click Turn on automation to turn it on. Or click Cancel to keep the automation off.

Automations act at most once a day, in the 06:00 check, within daily caps. You can revert each action from Automation history. Automations do not use credits for each action. They run only while daily checks run. See Turn on an automation.

When you need a new Search campaign

If you need a new Google Search campaign, click Create campaign in the sidebar. The wizard takes about ten minutes the first time. See Create your first campaign.
