What works on Meta Ads

Hero Marketer reads Meta ad accounts and tells you what it finds. It does not change anything in Meta. You make every change yourself in Ads Manager.

What you can do on a Meta account

  • Dashboard and reports. Spend, impressions, clicks, conversions and their trends, for the account and for each campaign. You also get tables by placement, age and gender, with the cost per conversion of each row. The AI summary reads these tables. You can export a PDF.
  • Campaigns. The Campaigns page shows your campaigns. A campaign has an Ad sets tab and an Ads tab. Click an ad set to see only its ads.
  • Flags on ad sets and ads. A badge shows when something needs a look: Learning, Learning limited, Seen often or Low quality. A row with no problem has no badge.
  • Hero AI. Ask about your numbers, get a report, or ask why something changed. Hero AI reads your settings, your ad sets and their learning stage, your placements, and what your ads say.
  • Alerts. Hero Marketer checks the account each morning. See the list below.
  • Create images. Make ads in Meta sizes and download them. Hero Marketer does not upload them to Meta.

What does not work on a Meta account

  • Changes. Hero AI cannot pause a campaign or change a budget on Meta. It tells you what to change and where to change it in Ads Manager.
  • Automations. Automations work on Google Ads accounts only. The Automations page offers your Google Ads account, or a way to connect one.
  • Create campaign. The campaign wizard builds Google Ads campaigns only.
  • Ad copy, keyword research and landing pages in Hero AI. These work on Google Ads accounts only.
  • Lead details. Hero Marketer shows lead counts, not the leads. It does not read lead forms.
  • Targeting. Hero Marketer does not read the targeting or the audience size of an ad set.

Which alerts run on Meta accounts

These alerts run on a Meta account each morning:

  • Connection broken
  • Conversion tracking stopped working
  • Campaign spending without converting
  • Campaign not spending its budget
  • Click through rate dropping
  • Conversion rate dropping
  • Cost per click spiking (for each campaign)
  • Account spend spiking (for the day before)
  • Campaign stopped serving
  • Cost per conversion spiking

These alerts do not run on Meta accounts:

  • Daily budget running out too fast, because this alert needs same-day numbers that Hero Marketer has not tested on Meta.
  • Account changed outside Hero Marketer, because Hero Marketer does not read Meta's history of changes.
  • Search terms wasting budget, Quality Score, ad strength and impression share, because Meta has none of these.

Campaign not spending its budget needs a daily budget on the campaign. It does not check a budget that is on the ad sets.

Your custom alert rules run on Meta accounts when they use a campaign metric, such as spend or conversions. Rules that use keywords or ad approvals do not run on Meta accounts. A rule with an action sends the alert but does not act.

How Meta numbers differ from what you expect

  • Conversions are Meta's Results. A Result is what the campaign's objective counts, so two campaigns can count different things.
  • The attribution is 7-day click plus 1-day view. This is the default in Ads Manager. A view counts, so one sign-up can also count on another platform.
  • Clicks are link clicks. Meta's Clicks (all) also counts likes and taps on a profile, so it is higher.
  • Days are the account's own. Hero Marketer uses the time zone of the Meta ad account. The time zone shows in Settings > Connections.
  • Recent days can change. Meta can update a day's numbers for up to 28 days. Hero Marketer reads those days again each morning.
  • Same-day numbers are live. Hero Marketer stores finished days. It reads today from Meta.

What daily checks cost on Meta

Daily checks cost 0.25 credits a day for each connected ad account, on every platform. The dashboard, reports and the free scan stay free. See Monitoring and the daily rate.

A business holds one ad account on each platform. You can have up to 10 businesses.
