Plan a competitor campaign

To plan a campaign against a competitor, paste the competitor's page URL in Hero AI and name your target country. Hero AI reads the page and writes a competitor campaign brief in a Competitor campaign card. The brief is a plan. It does not create a campaign or change your Google Ads account.

Plan a competitor campaign against https://www.example-competitor.com in the United States.

What the competitor campaign brief contains

The brief has the title "Competitor campaign brief: your product vs. the competitor". It has these parts:

  1. Competitor review. Hero AI reads the competitor page that you linked, and summarizes it.
  2. Positioning and angles. Hero AI writes five sections: Competitor read, Where we win, What to attack, Trademark-safe messaging, and Conquesting keyword themes.
  3. Competitor keywords. The Keyword Research Agent makes a keyword plan from the competitor's name. Hero AI takes the name from the competitor's domain.
  4. Competitor ad copy. The Ad Copy Agent writes a draft responsive search ad with 15 headlines and 4 descriptions. The ad text does not name the competitor.

The brief ends with a next step: build a comparison landing page for your product against the competitor. Ask Hero AI for it, and the Landing Page Agent drafts a wireframe for your own page. See Landing page redesign.

What a competitor campaign brief needs

  • A competitor URL that you paste. Hero AI reads the competitor page only when you link it in the chat. It does not search the web for the competitor.
  • A product. If you have more than one product on the account, Hero AI asks which product to use.
  • A target country and an active Google Ads account, for parts 3 and 4. Without a country, the brief has the review and the angles only. It then asks you to add a target country for the keyword plan and the ad copy.

The brief is part of a Hero AI answer. It uses credits like any Hero AI question.

What a competitor campaign brief does not do

  • It does not create anything in Google Ads. It creates no campaign, ad group, keyword, or ad.
  • It does not apply the ad copy. The ad copy is a draft. No approval card follows it.
  • It does not fill in the campaign wizard. To launch the campaign, open Create campaign in the sidebar. Set Search category to Competitor, and type the competitor's brand name as the seed keyword. See Set up targeting.
  • It does not copy the competitor's landing page. The Landing Page Agent works only on your own product's page.
