Set up auto top up

Auto top up is optional. It is a yearly credit subscription. It buys 20 credits for $20 when your balance goes below 5 credits. To cancel it, turn off Auto top up in Settings > Billing. Your credits stay.

Auto top up is off by default. It helps to keep your daily checks for alerts and automations on when you do not watch your balance.

How to turn it on​

  1. Click your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Click Billing.
  3. Turn on the Auto top up switch. The Paddle checkout opens.
  4. Pay for the first pack of 20 credits for $20.

Nothing is charged until you complete the checkout. The switch turns on when Paddle confirms the payment. This usually takes a few seconds.

Why it sets up a subscription​

To charge your card when you are not there, Hero Marketer must have a payment arrangement that you approved before. Paddle permits this only through a subscription. Because of this, auto top up is a yearly credit subscription.

Auto top up makes these charges:

  • When you turn it on: $20 for 20 credits.
  • Each year after that: $20 for 20 credits, when the subscription renews.
  • Between the yearly charges: $20 for 20 credits each time that your balance goes below 5 credits.

Each charge buys credits, the same as a pack that you buy yourself. The credits go into your balance in the same way. There is no monthly fee and no plan.

You cannot change the level of 5 credits or the size of the pack.

When auto top up buys credits​

Auto top up checks your balance every 15 minutes. It checks only while your alerts or automations are on for at least one account. This includes the time when monitoring is paused because your credits ran out.

Auto top up does not buy credits in these conditions:

  • You turned off all alert types and all automations. Auto top up then does nothing.
  • You are in a Hero AI chat, and your balance goes down between two checks. Auto top up buys credits only at the next 15-minute check. If your balance is too low for a Hero AI message, buy a pack yourself.
  • An earlier charge did not add credits, for example because the card was declined. Auto top up does not try again for 24 hours. See My payment failed.

How to turn it off​

  1. Click your profile picture at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Click Billing.
  3. Turn off the Auto top up switch.

This cancels the yearly credit subscription at once. Hero Marketer does not charge you again. The credits that you bought stay in your balance. The app shows Auto top up is off. Your credit subscription is cancelled, and your credits stay.

Auto top up also turns off in these conditions:

  • You cancel the subscription from a Paddle email.
  • Paddle cannot collect a yearly renewal payment, and it cancels the subscription.

Paddle cannot start a cancelled subscription again. To turn on auto top up again, complete a new checkout.
