Update payment method

To change the card or payment method on file, open Account → Plan, click Manage billing to open the Paddle billing portal, and update it under Payment method. Hero Marketer uses Paddle for billing, so all payment-method changes happen in Paddle's portal. The change is live immediately and applies to your next renewal.

How to update your payment method

  1. Open Account → Plan in the sidebar.
  2. Click Manage billing. The Paddle billing portal opens in a new tab.
  3. Click Payment method.
  4. Add or replace the card.
  5. Confirm.

The change takes effect immediately, and your next renewal uses the new payment method.

What payment methods Paddle accepts

Paddle accepts:

  • Major credit and debit cards. Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover.
  • PayPal.
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay. Where your browser and device support them.
  • Bank transfer. For some plans and regions.

Bank transfer availability varies by country. The Paddle portal shows exactly what's available for your account.

Adding a backup payment method

You can keep a backup payment method in Paddle. If your primary method fails, Paddle automatically tries the backup. Add one the same way you add a primary method, through Manage billing → Payment method.

What happens if your payment fails

If a renewal payment fails and your subscription is marked past due, Hero Marketer pauses app access, even though Paddle may keep retrying the charge:

  • Email reminders go to the address on your account.
  • Signing in sends you to the renewal page instead of the dashboard.
  • Access is restored once a renewal payment succeeds.

To recover from a failed payment:

  1. Sign in to Hero Marketer.
  2. On the renewal page, update your billing details or choose a plan.
  3. Confirm payment. Access is restored the moment the charge succeeds.

Cancelling a card while your subscription is active

If you cancel a card while your subscription is still active, your next renewal will fail unless you've added a new payment method first. Add the new method before cancelling the old card to avoid an interruption.

Updating VAT, tax ID, or billing address

To change VAT identifiers, business names, or billing addresses for your invoices, update them in the Paddle portal:

  1. Open Manage billing as above.
  2. Go to Billing details.
  3. Update the name, address, VAT, or tax ID.
  4. Save.

Updated details apply to your next invoice and are not retroactive. For a change to a past invoice, contact support.

How your card details are protected

Paddle is PCI compliant. Your card details never touch Hero Marketer's systems, they're stored and processed by Paddle directly. Hero Marketer sees only what Paddle exposes to merchants: the last four digits, the expiration, and the billing address.
