Fix a message in the Meta campaign wizard

Find the message that you see. Each section tells you what the message means and what to do. Most fixes are in Meta, and you make them once. For the full setup, see Set up your Meta account for campaigns.

"This ad account has no Facebook Page to run ads from"

The full message is This ad account has no Facebook Page to run ads from. In Meta Business Settings, add a Page to this ad account.

Each Meta ad runs from a Facebook Page. Add a Page to the ad account in Meta Business Settings. Then open Settings > Ad accounts in Hero Marketer, click Reconnect on the account, and give access to the Page when Meta asks.

"That Facebook Page can't run ads from this ad account"

The full message is That Facebook Page can't run ads from this ad account. Pick another Page.

The Page that you picked is no longer available to the ad account, or Hero Marketer has no access to it. Pick another Page on the first step. If the Page that you want is not in the list, reconnect Meta Ads and give access to that Page.

"Meta counts leads and sales with a pixel on your site"

The full message is Meta counts leads and sales with a pixel on your site, and this ad account has none. In Events Manager, create one and install it on your site.

Meta Leads and Sales campaigns need a Meta pixel, and the campaign cannot launch without one. In Meta Events Manager, create a pixel and install it on the site that your ads send people to. Then send a standard event for each result, for example Complete registration for a sign-up. See Set up your Meta account for campaigns.

"This pixel hasn't sent an event yet"

The full message is This pixel hasn't sent an event yet, so it can't count results. In Events Manager, check that it's installed on your site, or pick another pixel.

The pixel exists, but Meta has no event from it. The message is a warning: you can still continue. Check in Events Manager that the pixel code is on your website, or pick another pixel on the first step.

"This pixel hasn't fired on your site this week"

The message is This pixel hasn't fired on your site this week. Pick the pixel on your landing page, or check it in Events Manager.

The pixel sent events in the last 7 days, but none from the site of your landing page. The pixel can be on another of your websites. Pick the pixel that is on your landing page, or install the pixel on the landing page's site.

"That pixel isn't on this ad account"

The full message is That pixel isn't on this ad account. Pick another pixel.

The pixel that you picked is no longer shared with the ad account. Pick another pixel, or share the pixel with the ad account in Meta Business Settings.

"Retargeting needs Meta's custom audience terms accepted"

The full message is Retargeting needs Meta's custom audience terms accepted for this ad account. Accept them in Meta, then come back. The launch bar shows Accept Meta's custom audience terms to retarget your site's visitors.

A retargeting campaign shows ads only to the people who visited your site. Hero Marketer makes that audience from your pixel, and Meta allows it only after a person accepts Meta's custom audience terms for the ad account. Click Open Meta's terms, accept the terms, then come back to the wizard. Hero Marketer cannot accept the terms for you.

"Meta needs its custom audience terms accepted"

The full message is Meta needs its custom audience terms accepted before it makes an audience from your pixel. Accept them in Meta, then try again.

Meta refused an audience at launch, because nobody accepted its custom audience terms for the ad account. Open https://www.facebook.com/customaudiences/app/tos/?act= followed by your ad account ID, accept the terms, then launch again.

"To leave out people who already converted, accept Meta's custom audience terms"

The full message is To leave out people who already converted, accept Meta's custom audience terms for this ad account. After the launch, the message says People who already converted can still see these ads: accept Meta's custom audience terms to leave them out.

A campaign for new people launches without the terms. But Hero Marketer cannot leave out the people who already did what the campaign counts, for example people who already signed up. Click Open Meta's terms and accept them. Campaigns that you launch after that leave those people out.

"Meta found fewer than 1,000 people who visited your site"

The full message is Meta found fewer than 1,000 people who visited your site. Retargeting needs about 1,000, so show your ads to new people for now. The launch bar shows Your site needs more visitors before retargeting can run.

Hero Marketer makes the audience of the people who visited your site in the last 180 days, from your pixel. Retargeting needs about 1,000 people, because a smaller audience sees the same ads too often. When Meta says the audience is too small to run ads to, the wizard shows this message. A new audience fills with past visits within minutes. In question 2, set Audience type to New people for now. Meta can still show those ads to past visitors.

"Couldn't load your Pages and pixels" or "Couldn't load your site's visitors"

Meta did not answer the request. Click Try again. If the message stays, reconnect Meta Ads in Settings > Ad accounts.

"Say what your ads promote"

The first step needs what the ads promote, in a word or a short phrase, for example "free SEO audit" or "white-label reports". Type it in What your ads promote in question 1, then click Write my ads on the last question.

The campaign wizard makes 2 images for each Meta ad, and Create images needs your website and logo once for each product. Add them in the setup that shows on the first step. Write my ads waits until the setup is done.

My Meta ads came without images

The wizard writes the ads first, then makes their images. When the images fail, for example when your credits run out, the wizard keeps the ads and opens them with empty image slots. Making the images for 3 ads needs a balance of 2.6 credits. Add credits if you need them. Then pick or make a feed image on the Images tab, and click Make from Portrait for the Stories image.

"Pick a Stories and Reels image for every ad"

Each Meta ad has 2 images: a 4:5 image for feeds and a 9:16 image for Stories and Reels. Open the ad that shows a warning, open the Images tab, and click Make from Portrait. Hero Marketer makes a 9:16 image from the ad's feed image.

"Set at least" an amount "a month"

The message is Set at least amount a month.

The minimum Meta budget is 100 US dollars a month, or the same amount in your account's currency: 90 euros, 80 pounds, 140 Canadian dollars, 150 Australian dollars or 170 New Zealand dollars. In another currency, the minimum is Meta's own minimum for your ad account. When Meta's minimum is higher, Meta's minimum applies. Type a higher monthly budget.

"Your site's visitors can take up to" an amount "a month"

The message is Your site's visitors can take up to amount a month. More would only show them the same ads again.

A retargeting campaign shows ads only to your site's visitors, and Meta has no limit on how often one person sees an ad in a Leads or Sales campaign. So Hero Marketer stops the budget at about 4 views per person in a week, at your ad account's cost per 1,000 views in the last 30 days. Without that cost, it uses 20 US dollars per 1,000 views. Type a lower monthly budget, or show your ads to new people.

"Meta needs a payor and a beneficiary for ads shown in the EU"

The full message is Meta needs a payor and a beneficiary for ads shown in the EU. Set both as defaults for this ad account in Ads Manager, then launch again.

For ads that show in the EU, Meta needs the party that pays for the ads and the party that the ads benefit. Set both as defaults in your ad account's settings in Ads Manager, then launch again.

"Meta didn't make the change" at launch

The message is Meta didn't make the change: followed by Meta's own reason. Hero Marketer deletes the campaign that it started to make, so nothing spends. Two reasons that Meta can give:

  • This campaign's budget is too small. Your budget is under Meta's minimum for your ad account. Type a higher monthly budget.
  • Select an Instagram account or Facebook Page to represent your business on Instagram. Meta needs an Instagram identity for your ads. Hero Marketer uses your Page's Instagram account, or, when the Page has none, your Page itself on Instagram. If Meta still refuses, link an Instagram account to your Page in Meta Business Settings, then launch again.

"Audience Network and the right column are now off for this ad account"

This message shows after your first Meta launch. Hero Marketer turned off Audience Network and the right column for the whole ad account, so your budget stays on Facebook and Instagram. It does this once. To turn them on again, click Undo on the change in the change history.

"Meta didn't send this ad account's placement controls"

The full message is Meta didn't send this ad account's placement controls, so they weren't changed. Change them in Ads Manager under Advertising settings.

Undo could not read the ad account's placement settings from Meta, so it changed nothing. Turn Audience Network and the right column on again in Ads Manager.

"This is a demo account, so it can't publish campaigns"

The demo ad account shows how the wizard works, but it cannot launch. Connect a real Meta ad account to launch a campaign.
