Connecting Your Google Ads Account

Securely link your Google Ads account to enable AI-powered optimization and campaign management.

Prerequisites

  • An active Google Ads account with administrative access

  • Permissions to manage OAuth consent and API access

Connection Steps

1. Initiate Connection

  1. From your Hero Marketer onboarding page, click the "Connect Google Ads" button

  2. You'll be redirected to Google's secure OAuth consent screen

  3. Select the Google account associated with your Google Ads account

2. Grant Required Permissions

Hero Marketer requires the following permissions to optimize your campaigns:

  • View and manage your Google Ads campaigns

  • View and manage Google Ads account billing information

  • View reports about your Google Ads campaigns

3. Select Account

After successful authentication:

  1. You'll see a list of Google Ads accounts you have access to

  2. Select the account you want to optimize

  3. If you have multiple accounts, you can add more accounts later

4. Verify Connection

  • A success message will confirm your account is connected

  • Your Google Ads data will begin syncing automatically

  • Initial sync may take a few minutes depending on account size

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

  1. Connection Failed

    • Verify you have admin access to the Google Ads account

    • Ensure all required permissions are granted

    • Try reconnecting through the account settings

  2. Account Not Showing

    • Confirm you're using the correct Google account

    • Check if you have admin access to the account

    • Refresh the account list

  3. Lost Connection

    • Click "Reconnect Account" in the connection step

    • This will refresh your authentication without losing settings

Security Notes

  • All connections use OAuth 2.0 for secure authentication

  • No Google Ads passwords are stored by Hero Marketer

  • You can revoke access anytime through Google Security settings
