The first step in creating your campaign is setting up your targeting. This is where you'll define who you want to reach and what you're promoting. Getting this right is crucial for your campaign's success.

Prerequisites

  • An active Google Ads account connected to Hero Marketer

  • At least one product added to your account

  • A clear idea of what you want to promote

Setting Up Your Campaign Targeting

1. Select Your Product

  1. Choose the product you want to promote from your products list

  2. If you haven't added your product yet, click "Add New Product" first

  3. Make sure the product details are accurate as they'll be used to create your ads

2. Enter Your Main Keyword

  1. Type in the main keyword that best describes what you're promoting

  2. Be specific - for example, use "marketing automation pricing comparison" instead of just "marketing automation"

  3. This keyword will help our AI:

    • Find related keywords your customers are searching for

    • Create compelling ad copy

    • Name your campaign appropriately

3. Choose Your Target Country

  1. Select the country where you want your ads to appear

  2. Consider:

    • Where your customers are located

    • Your ability to serve these locations

    • Local language and cultural factors

4. Set Up Your Landing Page & Links

  1. Enter the webpage URL where you want to send your visitors

  2. Add sitelinks - these are additional links that appear below your ad:

    • Include 2-6 sitelinks for best results

    • Use clear, action-oriented text

    • Each link should lead to a relevant page

Choosing Your Main Keyword

  • Be specific about what you're offering

  • Think about how your customers might search

  • Avoid very broad terms that could waste your budget

Geographic Targeting

  • Start with your strongest market

  • Make sure you can effectively serve the location

  • Consider local competition and market conditions

Landing Pages

  • Use a page that directly relates to your keyword

  • Ensure the page loads quickly and works on mobile

  • Include clear calls to action

Sitelinks

  • Highlight your most popular pages

  • Include special offers or featured products

  • Use clear, benefit-driven text
